By Rev. Wendy Read
An exploration of childhood sexual abuse, as seen through the lens of scripture, A Conspiracy of Love offers reflections on a variety of biblical passages as a resource for healing. Although it is primarily intended for those who have themselves suffered childhood sexual abuse, it will speak to anyone interested in the intersection of suffering with faith.
The book can be used in a group setting, either by people who were abused and/or by friends and supporters - the material is suitable for both secular and church groups. The questions at the end of each reflection are intended to guide readers through their own responses to the chosen text and to the author's reflection.

"We need truth-telling, we need grace revealed, we need justice-making, we need the abundant gifts available in the Bible to guide us through the journey to reclaim our faith even as we remember our histories. Thanks be to God who gives us this gift and to writers like Wendy Read who give us access to it."
—Rev. Dr. Marie M. Fortune, from the foreword of A Conspiracy of Love
