Dealing effectively with violence in the family is one of the most pressing social needs of our day. This curriculum is designed to enable both the secular and the religious communities to mobilize their resources and effect change.
Here is a resource for both individuals and groups working on violence in the family - particularly spouse abuse and childhood sexual abuse. Placed squarely in the context of religious values and concerns, this manual provides a detailed methodology for effective training of clergy and other professional helpers. Sample outlines and detailed workshop models, with supplementary materials, make possible a step-by-step, how-to-do-it approach to training. An appendix contains twelve articles for additional background information.
This workshop curriculum was developed by the staff of FaithTrust Institute (previously the Center for the Prevention fo Sexual and Domestic Violence) for use in continuing education for clergy and in training community advocates to address religious questions. Includes teaching and worship materials which can be duplicated.
